Dr. Mariela Roca is a a proud mom to two amazing kids, a united States Air Force veteran, a Medical Logistics Contractor for the United States Department of Defense, and a Republican candidate for Maryland's Sixth Congressional District.
Mariela was born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She joined the U.S. Air Force in 2005 at the age of 20 and rose to the rank of Staff Sergeant E-5. In 2007, she was deployed to Afghanistan to serve our country during Operation Enduring Freedom, where she provided lifesaving medical logistics support to wounded service members.
After she was honorably discharged with six service medals, Mariela chose to make Frederick, Maryland, her home, continuing her medical logistics career as a federal employee at Fort Detrick to support the Department of Defense's Medical Supply Chain Process. While working full-time, raising her children, and caring for her terminally ill mother, Mariela earned three degrees: a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Technology and a Master of Business Administration from Mount Saint Mary's University in Emmitsburg, MD, and a Doctor of Business Administration from the University of Maryland Global Campus.
As a Republican outsider, Mariela is running to bring common sense, America-first values back to Washington. Mariela will always be a champion for veterans, active-duty military and law enforcement, parents, and working Maryland families. After she is elected, Mariela will work tirelessly to tackle the top issues facing Republicans and our nation in 2026: fighting skyrocketing inflation and the high cost of living, bringing high-paying jobs back to the district, securing our borders against illegal immigration and fentanyl flows, lowering healthcare and energy costs for families, cutting wasteful government spending, and ensuring our elections are secure, fair, and free from fraud.

I am a United States Air Force Veteran. I understand the sacrifices made by our troops and our military families. We must honor our Veterans by ensuring that essential services and care are always available. I will always fight for our Veterans in Congress.

Serving you in Congress should be a privilege, not a payday. I will work toward legislation limiting trading and requiring prompt disclosure of all securities transactions by members of Congress and their family members. I will work to close the corrupt “revolving door” of lobbyists and government officials.

When I became the primary caregiver to my terminally ill mother, I quickly realized how affordable prescription drugs are imperative to decreasing the burden families are already facing in taking care of loved ones. Sky-rocketing premiums, co-payments, and high medication prices make it almost impossible for many Americans to access affordable, life-saving healthcare. The federal government can and should immediately work with pharmaceutical companies to establish price transparency and renegotiate drug prices to lower the enormously high cost of medications in this country.

Today, too many hardworking Americans are struggling with skyrocketing costs for groceries, housing, health care, and utilities—making it harder to afford the basics and live with dignity. If elected to Congress, I will fight for practical solutions to make life more affordable: lowering prescription drug prices and health care costs, increasing housing supply to help families buy or rent homes they can afford, supporting American farmers and small businesses to keep grocery and energy prices down, and delivering targeted tax relief so families keep more of their hard-earned money. I will always put everyday Americans first—not special interests—and work to restore the American Dream for all.
The next Primary Election in Maryland is June 23rd, 2026!
